Christmas Tree Stitching

Hi there! Today I have such a super simple & sweet holiday card to share with you.SSS-Christmas Tree StitchingI used the Christmas Tree Stitching die and threaded some green embroidery floss, adding some random beads that I scrounged up from the bottom of our bead bin.
SSS-Christmas Tree StitchingWe have a crafty bead bin bursting with all kinds of cute beads. I had a weak moment a few months ago at my local craft store. I had all the kids with me. I was outnumbered. They talked me into buying a ton of cute beads. I might have started the whole thing. I lose my mind in the craft store. They swore they were gonna make beaded bracelets, sell them on etsy and become millionaires.
SSS-Christmas Tree StitchingNeedless to say, we’ve made a few personalized bracelets for gifts and here I am using them on my cards. But seriously, how cute is this? Might be one of my most favorite cards ever! I added a simple embossed sentiment using the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set.
SSS-Christmas Tree StitchingGuess what? I have an extra Christmas Tree Stitching die to give away.
Leave me a comment telling me your biggest crafty weakness: stamps, dies, paper, beads, all of the above, etc.?
I’ll pick a random winner from the comments.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Laura! My weakness is patterned paper. I love it all! I buy 12 x 12, 6 x 6 paper pads, foiled paper, shimmer paper , on and on. And I hoard it too! Although I’ve been trying to use it more and more.

And I love that you write just like you talk! 😆 I have a weakness for all things crafty, but my biggest weakness is all those cool tools (you know, like scissors that aren’t dull, haha!) that make crafting easier! This card is SO cute! I love the idea of using floss and beads. Your cards are my favorites of all of the cardmakers I follow. My biggest weaknesses at the craft store are stamps and anything sparkly-and I mean anything!! It’s dangerous for me to even step inside the store. 😬 I’m glad I’m not the only one. Have a great day, Laura!

Such a pretty card – this time of year, I love it when things go together quickly! I have a serious weakness for paper, but my biggest downfall would have to be watercolors. I know I can mix whatever color I want, but with so many pretty colors to choose from it’s hard to say no. 🙂

I totally understand “weakness”!!! Pretty much anything stamping related would fall into that category for me…from design paper to dies to cute stamps. I always have visions of what I’ll use it for but often that does not turn into reality as something else new is bought instead. I am working on controlling this as I’m running out of room!

OMG, Laura, your story is hilarious! I can soooo relate to it… Last year I saw amazing bead rope necklaces (and tutorials!) on Pinterest and TOTALLY wanted to conquer them. So, I bought kazillions of tiny seed beads, needles, strings – everything I could think of… Super excited, I even downloaded a weird app to build my own designs for these rope necklaces. Almost immediately I started a simple necklace, to master my new obsession. Well… The string with about 5 iterations of the design (about 25 needed to make a decent chocker) is still somewhere in my craft room, buried deep with all the beading essentials and kazillions of beads. I actually forgot all about it until right now 🙂 I read your post, started laughing at your kids’ promises, and then thought: “waaaaait a minute!!!”

But in general, yes, I’m losing my head in a craft store too! Stamps, dies and inks always find a way to end up in my purse if I put a foot into a craft store…

If I win this die I will probably make a Christmas tree card with a cat under it. Sometimes I just take out my quilting fabric, look at it then fold it up and put it back, it does make me happy though. I think I have a problem but I am not sure I want to be cured.

All of the above! I grew up with a crafty mom that liked to crochet and do various crafts with my Girl Scout troop. Then, I got into paper crafting myself! Love the craft store!!

My biggest weakness is loving everything and buying more than I could ever use. Just love this stylish tree – do the beads move on the thread?

What a pretty card. Millionaire bracelet makers!!!! Cracking up because I can picture you in the craft store digging through all the beads. My weakness is anything on sale with a coupon to increase the savings. Once a year I clean out the craft room a take everything I no longer “love” to my classroom.

What a fabulous card! That has to be one of my favorites. I used to make all sorts of crafts for a Gift Shop operated by a not-for-profit organization. Now that the shop,is closed, out of habit, I am always looking for new things at the craft shops. Now my children and grandchildren are the recipients of many of my projects. I just making things!!!!!

Gorgeous card! I love the idea of using beads. My weakness is dies and I blame you and Jennifer McGuire equally for the amount of dies I own after seeing cards you’ve made.

Your card is fabulous! I love stitching on cards although I haven’t done it in a very long time, used to do tons of cross-stitching, kinda miss it. But my passion now is paper crafting. My big weakness is Dies, but I’ve been doing this for over 15 years so I have a huge stash of everything. Except cover dies, for some reason I don’t have any of those yet but I’m going to rectify that soon! LOL! Like I need more of anything. But it’s not my fault I have a large stash, it’s the crafty companies who keep making more & more cute stuff!

I love how you made your
    tree with the beads! This
would be fun to use with
    felt and baker’s twine with
    beads. I love buying felt
    and dies.

Paper. Its so inexpensive that I don’t feel as bad buying it when I already have way more than I can ever use.

I love how you used random beads from the kids bead drawer. We have plenty of those. Need more? 🙂

It’s hard to pick one crafty weakness but it’s the crafty tools like the Misti’s, Copic Markers, etc. I just can’t resist them. Love the tree beaded card and thanks for the chance to win this die

I love the headed tree! I retired from beading, for now, because of hand problems. Hand made papers are my love!!! An addiction to all of Catherine Poolers’ products is a BIG problem! I Love inky fingers and special papers when they get married!

My weakness…everything if I could show you my craft room you’d understand. When I see a cute project I tend to go “all-in”. Now I have “no-where to assemble them!!! I have all the tools needed…now I just need the die! Cute!!!

My weakness? Ha….it’s watching YouTube videos of card makers using all sorts of materials that I have to check out, contemplate, and way too often, BUY! But you know what? I’m OK with that. Because creating is fun and a handmade card puts a smile on someone’s face. So it’s worth it. Keep ’em comin’, Laura!

Oops! Forgot to mention my craft weakness. I love all crafts but dies are probably my biggest weakness although since I got a MISTI I’ve really been getting into stamps, especially layering ones.

We only have Michaels for crafts and I hardly ever shop there. But when I go to my local scrapbook stores, it’s paper. Patterned paper. I have so much paper that I don’t have room for even one more piece but I buy it anyway! Gotta love the paper!

Yes taking kids to a craft store is such a bad idea for me too! Ha! I love this cute beaded tree. My weekness is stamps – especially the cute kind.

With the exception of the beads I have a weakness for all of them and I am a hoarder of all of all of them. I have a difficult time parting with any of it to make something. I am having to force myself to use some of it. Yet I continue to add more to my stash.
