Distress Oxide Sprays

Hi there! Today I have a couple of simple cards to share that I created using the yummy, new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Spray colors.

Distress Oxide Sprays & CZ-You Got This

I masked off simple angles to let the spray colors overlap. These new colors are gorgeous and really have a vibrant result on the Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock.

Distress Oxide Sprays & CZ-You Got This

For the sentiment I used the CZ You Got This stamp set and coordinating dies. I used one of the Rounded Corner Rectangle dies to create a window opening for one card.

Here’s a video to show you how I created these cards.

Masking with Distress Oxide Sprays

Hi there! Today I have a couple projects to share with you that I’ve created experimenting with masking using Distress Oxide Sprays.

SSS-CZ Love You-Distress Oxide Sprays

For this first card I simply masked off straight lines and overlapped the sprays to give it that gorgeous combination of colors. The colors of Oxide Sprays that I used are: Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon & Cracked Pistachio.

SSS-CZ Love You-Distress Oxide Sprays

For the sentiment I used the CZ Love You word dies along with a few Studio Katia sequins.

SSS-CZ Love You-Distress Oxide Sprays

For this next card I used a heart mask that I created with one of the Ornate Love hearts dies and some acetate. This could be so much fun to do with various shapes like maybe triangles for a fun geometric design.

SSS-Everyday Words on a Line-Distress Oxide Sprays

For the sentiment I used one of the Everyday Words on a Line dies. Here’s a video to show you how I created these cards.

I’m feeling pretty much addicted to these oxide sprays at the moment, and have more ideas than time. If only I had a cook and a house cleaner and a nanny, lol! I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

SSS-Everyday Words on a Line, Ornate Love & Distress Oxide Sprays

Hey there! Today I have a fun project to share where I experimented with the Distress Oxide Sprays. These are so much fun to used, although I have MUCH to learn! Once I sprayed the background with Mermaid Lagoon & Cracked Pistachio I turned it into a card using the hearts from Ornate Love, a sentiment from Everyday Words on a Line & Tiny Words. I also added a few gorgeous Studio Katia sequins.

Tim Holtz STAMPtember® 2020 Exclusive Collaboration

Hi there! Today I’m back with another fun STAMPtember® Collaboration with Tim Holtz called Snarky Christmas Cats.

Tim Holtz STAMPtember® 2020 Exclusive Collaboration

I had to do some ink blending for a Tim Holtz card so I made a few small panels using various color combinations and trimmed them down to fit onto a slimline card. If you want some spectacular ink blending color combo inspiration, look at Kristina Werners examples. They are true eye candy!

Tim Holtz STAMPtember® 2020 Exclusive Collaboration

For the images, I stamped them with Memento ink and colored with Copics.

Tim Holtz STAMPtember® 2020 Exclusive Collaboration

I fussy cut the images out and popped them up onto the ink blended panels and added a few clear drops for embellishment. I also embossed three sentiments from the Snarky Christmas Cats set in white onto black cardstock and die cut them using the Sentiment Label dies.

August Card Kit Mini Blog Hop

Hi there! Today I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for a Mini Hop showcasing the August 2020 Picnic Parade card kit. I’ve created three cards using the Hello Sunshine stamp set included in the card kit.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

For this first card I simply stamped the sun ray image with Aqua Sky ink onto a panel of white cardstock and then stamped it again going the opposite direction with Oceanside ink.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

For the sentiment I used the Thinking of You Sentiment Strips.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

For this next card I used the solid stripe to create a diagonal striped background. I used the ruler guides on the MISTI to shift the panel 3/4″ each time to get consistent spacing.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

For the sentiment I used the CZ Miss You word die.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

For this last card I used the solid circle image in the Hello Sunshine stamp set and stamped it repeatedly, again using the MISTI rulers to get consistent spacing each time.

SSS-Hello Sunshine

The Concord & 9th ink colors look amazing with the overlapping design. I used another Thinking of You sentiment strip for the sentiment on this card.

Here is a video to show you how I created these simple cards.

Hi there! Today I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for Day 2 of their DieCember® Release Blog Hop! I’ve created a couple of projects featuring a few of their fun, new dies.

SSS-Birthday Wishes Circle, Winter Wishes Circle & Burst die

My first card uses the Birthday Wishes Circle die along with the Burst die.

SSS-Birthday Wishes Circle & Burst die

I used one of the Nested Circle dies to create a window opening to frame the Burst die cut. Behind the Burst I blended Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon & Blueprint Sketch. The Birthday Wishes was die cut with metallic gold cardstock.

SSS-Birthday Wishes Circle, Winter Wishes Circle & Burst die

This next card is uses the Winter Wishes Circle die along with the Burst die.

SSS-Winter Wishes Circle & Burst die

Everything is exactly as the first card except for this one I used warm tones for the blending: Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade & Squeezed Lemonade.

Rest & Refresh Release Blog Hop

Hi there! Today I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for their Rest & Refresh Release Blog Hop! I’ve got two cards to share with you featuring the Hexagon Element die.

SSS-Hexagon Element

For this first card I blended Distress Oxides on a panel, flicked with water and also flicked with smooshes Oxides and then die cut the panel using the Hexagon Element die.

SSS-Hexagon Element

For the background I flicked some Licorice Liquid Watercolor and popped the panel onto a Fog base. I adhered a gold metallic die cut hexagon onto the panel and popped up the blended hexagons with foam tape. For the sentiment I used the Hex Yeah set by Cathy Zielske.

SSS-Hexagon Element

For this next card I some of the leftovers from the first card. The blended hexagon outline die cut was adhered to a white panel and filled with a few of the gold metallic hexagons. That’s what ya call being thrifty AND nifty:)

SSS-Hexagon Element

For the sentiment I used the Big Friend die and added a few Sparkling Clear sequins for embellishment.
