Altenew-May 2018 Inspiration Challenge

Hello, everyone! This month I’m joining Altenew in hosting the May 2018 Inspiration Challenge!

The inspiration photo for this month’s challenge is of a card from last year that I created featuring the Floral Shadow Stamp Set. There are so many great colors to choose from in this project, but we’ve decided to highlight the pink, aqua, and teal for the challenge.

Here’s what I came up with using this photo as my inspiration:
Altenew-Stone Wall Stencil, Garden Treasure & Flower Arrangement setFor the background, I blended Dew Drops & Aqualicious Crisp Dye Inks using the Stone Wall Stencil.Altenew-Stone Wall Stencil, Garden Treasure & Flower Arrangement setFor the floral images, I used the Garden Treasure Stamp Set. I stamped the blooms with Pink DiamondPinkalicious,& Razzleberry inks. I also used a bit of Autumn Blaze Crisp Dye Ink for the stamen in the blooms. For the leaves, I used BambooParrot inks. I used the coordinating Garden Treasure Die to cut the floral images out and pop them up onto the ink–blended background.Altenew-Stone Wall Stencil, Garden Treasure & Flower Arrangement setFor the sentiment, I used the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set. I stamped the “hello” and then used the coordinating Flower Arrangement Die to die cut the sentiment. I die cut four more white word die-cuts and adhered them together using spray adhesive to make a sturdy, dimensional word die–cut.

Altenew Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there! Today I’m joining Altenew for their November blog hop featuring their newly release Artist Markers. If you are following the hop then you should have arrived here from the lovely Kathy Racoosin’s blog.Altenew Artist MarkersI have a couple of projects that showcase some of the gorgeous colors in the Artist Markers B & C sets.Altenew Artist Markers-Garden TreasureFor my first card I simply scribbled several of the markers onto Yupo paper. The Yupo paper has a coating on it that works beautifully with alcohol based markers. I added some blooms from Garden Treasure that were embossed in white onto vellum along with a sentiment from Label Love.Altenew Artist Markers-Garden TreasureMy next card used the same Yupo paper that I scribbled the exact same colors on as above, but afterwards I added some drops of alcohol blending solution which created a magical reaction.
Altenew Artist Markers-Script Words 2For the sentiment I used one of the Script Words 2 dies and embossed a coordinating sentiment from Super Script.
Altenew Artist Markers-Script Words 2Here’s a video to show you how I created these projects.

Altenew-March Release Blog Hop

Hello there! Today I’m excited to join Altenew for their March release blog hop. If you are following the hop then you should have arrived here from Nicole Picadura’s blog.Altenew-March releaseSo many fantastic new sets in the March release! My first card features the Simple Fruits set.
Altenew-Simple FruitsI used several Altenew inks on each of the fruits. I would ink up each fruit with two shades: lighter one of the top and darker ink on the bottom. Using the Misti helps a ton to do this. I used the coordinating dies and popped up each fruit with foam tape.
Altenew-Simple FruitsThis next card features the Hug Me set. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them with Copics.
Altenew-Hug MeFor the background I blended distress inks onto distress cardstock followed by some flicks of water.
Altenew-Hug MeThis last card showcases the Garden Treasure stamp set with gorgeous multi-step stamping floral images.
Altenew-Garden TreasureI used Altenew inks on the flowers and added a bit more detail with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from Adore You.
