Altenew-Hope

Hello there! Today I’m sharing this project over on the Altenew blog featuring the Hope Stamp Set. I thought I would try a color combination that I’ve never tried before. I don’t think I’ve ever combined purple and orange together, other than maybe at Halloween time, but they are absolutely gorgeous paired together.
Altenew-HopeTo being I blended Midnight Violet on the bottom of a panel and Orange Cream on the top. I adhered the beautiful Dotted Washi Tape over the ink blended panel, which really toned down the colors, but still allows you to see the subtle purple and orange ink blending.
Altenew-HopeThe next step was stamping the beautiful floral images from the Hope Stamp Set. For the bloom I used the Shades of Purple ink set and for the leaves I used the Green Meadows ink set. I also added Sunkissed and Autumn Blaze for the center of the bloom.
Altenew-HopeThen I die cut a circle window opening into the background panel using one of the Halftone Circles dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Hope Stamp Set and embossed a coordinating sentiment in white onto a strip of royal purple cardstock.Altenew-HopeHere is a video to show you how I created this card.

I have a winner to announce from the March Release blog hop.
Congratulations Kathy McCluskey!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The purple and orange play beautifully together. I love how the washi tape lets the ink show through but softens the color. Lovely card!

I’ve been a fan of orange and purple colour combination since I was a little girl. You did a wonderful job bringing these colours together and I love the muted look the dotted washi tape gives the background panel. I think it allows the main floral images take center stage. Another gorgeous card Laura!! And thanks for stepping out of your comfort zone. That always inspires me to do the same.
