United We Craft Blog Party

Hi there! Today I’m excited to join many, many other talented card makers for the United we Craft Blog Party with Simon Says Stamp!

SSS-Stitching Panel die, Love & Valentines-Word Mix 2

I created another stitching card. This time with my favorite, beloved triangles. I used the Stitching Panel die by Simon Says Stamp and some yarn that I picked up at the drugstore. Of course, embroidery floss would work, too. I’m just having fun with the fuzzy texture of the yarn lately.

For the sentiment I used the Love & Valentines Word Mix 2 stamp set. I mounted it on another vellum circle and popped it up onto the stitching panel.

I attempted to get my family involved and catch the stitching on cards bug. My two daughters, Bailey & Emma, are always ready to try something crafty. The others, well, I tried, that’s all I can say:) I think the girls will want to try this again.

stitching together

Here’s a video to show you my attempt at getting the family crafty during this quarantine as well as how I created my card. Let me just say that my family is in rare form here. This is, what feels like, day 1,999 of being pent up in the house together, so we are loopy and sarcastic and please know that we do actually love each other…..I think:)

Make sure and check out the Simon Says Stamp blog to see a list of all the card makers joining the Blog Party! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Great card! I like stitching for cards so I will have to give these fabulous triangles a go. You did so well just to get your family to try it. To get mine to try would be like herding cats. Best of luck and stay well.

Oh My Gosh!!! Loved this little look into your family. Your children remind me of my own. Lots of sarcasm and silliness. Good for you on getting them all to do some crafting. I feel like my 3 boys would say no . . . even my daughter would be more willing to do something else rather than create a card. Both of your cards are beautiful and loaded with inspiration. I have not tried stitching on paper using ones of these dies yet. Long ago in scrapbook days, I did try my hand at stitching and always enjoyed the result, but not necessarily the time it took. Thanks again for sharing, this was definitely the rainbow in my day. Stay safe!

It’s so good to know that people are getting together as families, and doing projects together, at least for a while. Maybe we can all learn a lesson from this about the value of family. Bless you and your family, keep well and keep crafting!

There is always a silver lining to every dark cloud, and having time (even if it’s too much time!) to do things like this is definitely a blessing in disguise. I enjoyed seeing your wonderful family – just think of all the memories you are making! Bless you, Laura, as you are a big source of inspiration for me.

Thanks for sharing your awesome family with us… sarcasm and silliness… perfectly normal! Love your cards… have not tried stitching… I’m so behind with what I want to try I will probably finish my crafting to do list in heaven… I mean it’s heaven right… so crafting should be there. Blessings!

Hi from California. It was fun to see your family! I love that you’re a risk taker. Even though you weren’t sure what you wanted to stitch, you just decided to try something and went with it. Very cool!

Well, I just wrote a long adoring note to you telling you way too much about our quarantine experience and how beautiful and young you look! And it got deleted, but an errant key touch! It was funny. Not as funny as the Bassen household, but it might have entertained you for a minute. Sorry. I was trying to return the favor. You (all of you) rock! Thank you for sharing!
