I need to do what you were discussing, Laura — sort my scraps. Right now I have a ton of scraps for Valentine’s day. Lots of reds, pinks, ivories, purples, etc. I love both cards. I have never thought of lining up the paper w/ the next darkest hue of the same family under a lighter one like the background paper on the first card. Ingenious! Or maybe just genius?! I like full-card shaker (someone on Waffle Flower’s IG just did that last night – Channin, I think). They’re so interactive and sparkly – how can you go wrong with that?
Thanks for the lift. Take care and have a great week!!

Awesome card–that heart card is pure genius! The other one is cool too, but I need to remember that trick of lining up the papers and then cutting it out. Stay well Laura, we need your creativity to inspire us!

What stunning cards, love them! Great idea how you made the first one with the rainbow heart.
A few years ago I was fed up with all my 12 “x 12” cardstock getting so mixed up. It was only when I was sorting that, that I saw how many scraps I had. I then also selected these per colour group, just like my sheets of cardstock and put the scraps in a folder that comes with my sheets of cardboard. For example, I always grab my scraps before starting on my big sheets, it really helps to sort it!
Thank you so much for your gorgeous inspiration, stay safe and have a great day.

When I started scrapbooking over 10 years ago I would save every last scrap. I no longer do that but still have a ton of small pieces. I saw a video where the person put the scraps back with the same coloured paper so that whenever they used that paper they would go through the smaller pieces first. I need to sort mine out to do this but I do plan on eventually getting this done. I’ve also decided if it’s smaller that 2” to throw it out. Now to tackle the mountain of scraps! 😮. I love both of your cards, they are so cheerful!

OUCH! My brain hurts! I LOVE your sun ray card…..but the process would drive me CRAZY! I would NOT be able to have those layers line up. You are a GENIUS! Plus the shaker card idea of off-setting the outline of the letters is terrific! Thanks for overloading my brain today.
