Birthday Candle Shaker

Hi there! Today I’m sharing this clean & simple birthday shaker card over on the Simon Says Stamp blog. I used the Birthday Candle die along with the CZ Silhouette Sentiments set for the sentiment.

SSS-Birthday Cancles, Silhouette Sentiment,

You can check out the video of this card HERE! Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Dear Laura –
    Some thoughts:
1- Love the card. Yes, you are kind of channeling your inner CZ there. Nothing wrong with that!
2- I think you meant “mylar” balloons.
3- You and your husband were consistent. Wow, were you consistent! Spring must be your thing! Please don’t get your ‘innards’ in a knot because I made that observation. 🤣🤣🤣
4- All those tiny, miniscule paper pieces — the little, tiny diagonally cut parts of candles — you got ’em all back in there at the right spot. Impressive. I would have lost at least 2-3 of them!
5- I’m also impressed at your ability to die cut w/o use of tape. You have the “easy see” tape in the frame but it did not seem that you used it. Love the way you balance little scraps of paper over the dies and don’t use tape. A marvel, you are!
6- Have a very happy weekend! Thanks for the video. I go into a funk w/o enough LF videos in a given time frame.

Hello, Laura! I like the idea of you cutting up cardstock and match it up on the part of the die that you will use it for. It allows me to look into my scraps, and avoid adding more to my scrap box by doing this. I noticed that you don’t put tape when you do this. Do you run your dies with the cutting side up? Thank you!
