Hi there! Today I’m sharing a colorful project where I experimented with Alcohol Inks. I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTube videos and learning so much. I was so inspired to try this “wet in wet” technique. For this technique you generously wet your Yupo paper with Blending Solution first. Then I added three stripes of Alcohol Inks in the colors: Stream, Flamingo & Sunshine Yellow. You basically just tilt the panel around and let the inks blend and work their magic.
After the ink blended panel was completely dry I stamped it using the Grid Play Grid background cling stamp with Alcohol Lift Ink. I added the sweet Picture Book Panda and sentiment from Birthday Palooza to finish it off.
Here’s a video to show you my “wet in wet” alcohol ink experiment.
So much fun! Hope you enjoyed the tutorial! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Ruby’s Crafty Anniversary Blog Hop
August 27, 2018
Hi there! Today I’m excited to join Rubeena for her Crafting Anniversary Blog Hop! This hop is an epic 2-Day hop with more than 60 guests and over $600 in sponsored prizes! If you are following the hop then you should have arrived here from Leigh Houston’s blog.
I’ve created two fun cards using products that make me smile: rainbows, unicorns and jumping narwhals!
This first card uses for the Build a Rainbow & Picture Book Jumping Narwhal dies. for the sentiment is used the CZ Designs Yay stamp set. The clouds are from an older Happy Days die set.
This next card is very similar but uses the Picture Book Unicorn. I used glitter cardstock for the unicorn and added rosy cheeks with a R00 Copic Marker.
Both cards use sentiments from the CZ Designs Yay stamp & die sets. Aren’t these fun? I think even my teenagers might think these are cool…well, maybe. I get the “cool” thing wrong every now and then:)
Here’s a video to show you how I made these cards.
In celebration of this anniversary, we have several amazing sponsors. Letâs thank them for their generosity! Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on all the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page. Winners will have up to 2 weeks to contact Rubeena at ararerubycrafts@gmail.com to claim their prize before another winner is selected.

Beautiful Mermaids
August 14, 2018
Hi there! Today I’m sharing a project from the latest September Card Kit by Simon Says Stamp, Sea Treasure.
I used the Beautiful Mermaids stamp set included in the kit to create my card.
I stamped the mermaid image using Memento ink and colored her with Copics. I love her hair! If you thought I might have been humming “Under the Sea” while coloring her, then you are absolutely right. I was, and I’m sorry if you are now, too, ha!
Using the Slopes and Hills dies I created masks to create gradient ocean waves using Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon & Blueprint Sketch for the waves.
Check out the Simon Says Stamp blog for more information on this fun Sea Treasure card kit! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Waffle Flower August Release Blog Hop
August 5, 2018
Hi there! Today I’m excited to join Waffle Flower for their August release blog hop. This is such a fun release full of products to help you swatch, experiment, practice or even play with your various color mediums.
I had fun playing with the Color Swatches stamp set and used it to create this colorful background grid. I stamped the row of squares repeatedly and painted each square using distress inks. I layered the Lacy Flower die over the painted background and added a sentiment from the new Adventures stamp set.
I also created a small swatch chart of my most used distress ink cubes. This is just a small chart, but you could easily stamp the swatch images three times on a larger piece of watercolor paper and swatch as many as 72 colors. Swatch charts are a feast for the eyes, aren’t they?
Here’s a video to show you how I created these projects.
GIVEAWAY!
To celebrate the blog hop, Waffle Flower is giving away $25 gift certificates to THREE lucky winners. Leave comments along the hop by 11:59pm ET on 8/12/18 for your chances to win. Winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the posts on this blog hop and will be announced on the Waffle Flower blog on 8/15/2018.
