Best Days Release Blog Hop

Hi there! Today I’m joining Simon Says Stamp for Day 2 of their Best Days Release Blog Hop. There is so much amazing inspiration showcasing the awesome new Best Days Release.
SSS-Picture Book Walrus & Lamb, Emphatic, Bubble Tracker, Reverse Polka, Oh BabyI have a couple of projects to share using some of my faves from the new release. I just had to play with a few more of the adorable new Picture Book dies. My first card features the Picture Book Walrus. I die cut the Walrus with white cardstock and blended Salty Ocean, Pumice Stone & Hickory Smoke to add the color.
SSS-Picture Book Walrus, Emphatic & Bubble TrackerFor the background I embossed the hexagon images from Bubble Tracker in clear and then blended Distress inks over in Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and  Mermaid Lagoon. The sentiment is from the Emphatic stamp set.
SSS-Picture Book Walrus, Emphatic & Bubble TrackerMy next card showcases the Picture Book Lamb die.
SSS-Reverse Polka, Oh Baby, Picture Book LambFor the background I stamped the Reverse Polka background cling using Sea Glass & Maliblue ink. I die cut a window opening using one of the Nested Circle dies and added a sentiment from Oh Baby.
SSS-Reverse Polka, Oh Baby, Picture Book LambHere is a video to show you how I created these cards.

Laura, I love those hexagons, the honeycomb part, but I just don’t need all the other stuff — and I don’t know what it’s for! I mean I’m sure you’re right it’s for planning and probably goal tracking knowing Cathy (which I don’t, but I know her work), so I’ll just have to see if I have enough money for a $17.00 honeycomb stamp! :). I love your blue-eyed lamb (before I forget), SO cute! And that reverse polka dot is amazing! How come I don’t already have a background stamp like that? What’s the matter with me? Of course, I love the cards you made! I always do, but I especially like the use of the soft colors and the sweet lamb on the baby card. So sweet! What a lovely way to welcome a new baby!

I really liked learning how to clear emboss and then blend distress ink onto the surface. Good use of the circle cut out.

I love, love, love the background on your walrus card because it uses my favorite color in the whole world, yellow. I’m not sure how I feel about the walrus. He is cute but I don’t think I would use that stamp.
That little lamb with the polka dots on the card is just way to cute! I love that card so much!
Thank you for showing us your cute and adorable cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I am loving this hop.

I’m in love with your walrus card !! blue-grey on rainbow colours is really lovely !!
I have one question though … when I do “resist” stamping, the colours always seem to colour my heat embossed image … so I wonder if it wouldn’t be easier to stamp after having applied the distress inks or oxides ? do you also do that way sometimes ? Or is it better to emboss first ?
Anyway, I have a lot of work to do now : visiting every post on your blog haha ;)) I love your work so much ! Thanks for sharing 🙂
